Green Party demands action to address fly-tipping on derelict Daubhill site

11 March 2017

Rope works siteBolton Green Party member Alan Johnson, who lives in the Daubhill area and stands as a Green Party candidate for the Rumworth ward, has asked Bolton Council to urgently address the state of the old rope works site situated at the bottom of Croston Street, Daisy Street and Brandwood Street.

The site is blighted by considerable quantities of fly-tipped materials which pose a health and safety hazard to residents, particularly children, and is an eyesore. The site is only partially fenced, providing easy access for fly-tippers.

Alan has conducted a petition to demonstrate the strength of feeling amongst local residents on this issue and an article was published in the Bolton News on 10 March 2017 (available here).
